It makes no sense to tell a driver who's eating up their tires that they can just pit and ask for the lead driver to slow down for them... Like c'mon now19-05-2024 23:08

Sounds like you're implying... VTEC kicked in..04-05-2022 00:25

But what is grip? What vettel said makes perfect sense especially in relation to the floor and bargeboards in that they create lift (albeit upside-down) and that means there's low pressure above the road sucking lots of water into the air to be ejected out of the back of the car. Wouldn't be surprised if the new ground effect cars have this issue even worse, but with the spray much higher in the air03-09-2021 01:57

I largely agree but the massive and shockingly non-fatal crash at Spa earlier this month is a reminder that not all courses can be treated equally. With the propensity for cars to bounce off the wall at eau rouge back into oncoming traffic as Norris did in q3 makes a good case for halting the race. One slide there could have been lethal for someone involved.31-08-2021 00:30

whenever there's some imbalance, wet conditions, tricky driving he falls apart. Lewis needs a stable grippy car to pull anything off unlike the rest of the field which is used to driving difficult machinery29-08-2021 00:02

I fail to see how failure to fix an issue in the past is a nail in the coffin for fixing it now. "It's a bit disingenuous to be outraged by slavery now when there was plenty of opportunities to change it" Insert literally anything and your implication is we should never do anything if we didn't do it immediately31-08-2021 00:26

It wasn't under this arbitrary cost cap though. The teams are mostly(just not Mercedes) saying, look you're breaking our cars and it puts you at an advantage in more ways than one, enough is enough you should pay.14-08-2021 16:18

My opinion only here: all the racers are cleaner, this era of cars is delicate, lose gobs of time with the slightest damage and beyond the first few laps can rarely even be close enough to hit someone. Old F1 cars were more like Indy is today where they could bump a little and touch11-08-2021 16:15

Really not excited for the rule change. Passing right now is exciting when it happens. I watch Indy car sometimes and get quite bored with watching a stream of cars all following so closely. You just know they'll pass and pass again and pass again and it's not an epic spectacle in the lead up to the penultimate moment.11-08-2021 01:22

Yes but they need evaluating. Vettel gets stripped of his win post race for low fuel. Yet you can take out multiple driver's and get a penalty that has near zero actual ramifications for the driver or team as a whole. The punishment should fit the crime02-08-2021 16:43
